10 Random GOOD!

1. I can honestly say that I have found the person I wish to spend the rest of my life with.

2. I am 4 classes away from receiving my Associates of Science in Criminal Justice, then on to my Bachelor's!

3. I absolutely LOVE my babies. Odin (dog), Philly & Pickles (cats).
4. I love my phone Samsung Galaxy III, best phone I have ever had and am so happy with the picture quality, the phone features and can say this is the first phone I have had for a few months and have NOT found anything that I don't like about it.

5. Homemade Chocolate Chip cookies (well, store bought, but cooked at my house, in my oven)

6. Family! I love my family even though they have their moments I don't know what I would do without them! (this includes blood, additional family, "family", my boyfriends family, etc, Family is not by blood and marriage, Family is who consider to be part or your life)

7. Music, any kind, any time, every day. I don't know what I would do without music. It really does help to shape/show our moods and personalities and helps us to relax, unwind, vent, cry,  show love, happiness, and any and every other mood you can think of. I love music

8. I can fit into clothes that I bought and never could wear. This is one of the biggest motivators that I can think of to help get started on walking more often, both for myself and my dog.

9. My niece and nephew, they are a separate good from my family because they are children and have the honesty and admiration that only children can have. I love being around them and they can make any day brighter for me.

10. Weekends!
and and a bonus. # 11. Norman Reedus (no explanation needed)

Had to list the good in my life, since my last two blogs (all tonight) were both pretty much rants.

Drug addiction

It really is sad how many people are affected by drug addiction. And even though there are many illegal and dangerous drugs out in our world today, one of the most common drug addiction issues has to deal with prescription medications.

I live in Florida, which is considered a "pill mill" state. It really is a place that many people come to see a physician, get a prescription, fill it and then move the drugs out of state to sell them. I have grown up with many people addicted to different things and to see people hurting themselves with drugs and abusing prescription medications is very upsetting.

I have seen people killed from, killed for, and even lose their kids due to addiction. And if a person survives the loss of their children, taken away by the state, or killed in an accident because the parents were too high to pay attention, the only thing that parent does...is continue to kill themselves with drugs. We have people robbing pharmacies and those pharmacies now refuse to carry certain medications because they fear for the safety of their employees. It makes me sick to see people that hurt themselves continuously.

What is really upsetting is when you see a baby that has to be given a dose of methadone so they don't die from withdraw because their mother is an addict and passed the drugs to her child. Most of the time, the mother will get custody of her baby too and the cycle will repeat itself.

This post was kind of dark for my stuff, but that seems to be my mood tonight when I have found out things about people that I knew.

Part time work

I work a full time job and go to school full time and I find myself dragging and exhausted. I spend all of my free time trying to keep up with school work, house work and spend time with my boyfriend so he doesn't go looking for someone else. (we live together and have been together for 4 years, I really don't believe that) but on a serious note. I just don't have any spare time.

So my title is part time work, because even though we are both working full time and he is working 40+ hours a week, he is based on commission which is the dumbest thing I have heard of, because he is a route driver that fills vending machines. If his vending machines don't make money, he doesn't get paid. His job recently "restructured" and lessened his route by "a little". He is working 40+ hours still and yet for two weeks pay brings home $400 ?!?!

The sad thing is that we have been looking for a new job for him, but the job market is still very thin and hard to find anything at all. So I also find myself looking for part time work now to add to my personal list. how can we afford to live if his paycheck is cut in half?!

This upsets and worries me and I know he is stressed and worried too, but I just don't understand this. We had some money saved up from income taxes to cover last months rent, but I just don't know....

It hurts to have these kinds of struggles and see people that flaunt things they buy and do because they have money, there is a difference between talking about something and flaunting/bragging about things.

Another crappy thing is that by trying to find part time work I have to fill out applications that are 5 pages just for work at a grocery store or even fast food. Then they see my work history and say I am overqualified and decline my application. What ticks me off too are the places that have you go apply at the store...on the computer there?! Uhm, why!?
